Criminal charges in road rage incidents are more common than one would expect in southern California. Recently, a man was trying to merge late at night, and the car next to him was not letting him over. This back and forth continued, until a minor fender bender occurred. Fearing an altercation with the other driver, the man continued driving. While he should have contacted police immediately, when he arrived home the man was considering who to contact, but California Highway Patrol quickly arrived, charging him with a hit and run.
Obviously wanting to protect himself from a misdemeanor, he contacted attorney Jessica McElfresh. With full restitution being made through insurance and by highlighting her client’s previously unblemished criminal history and genuine fear for his safety, attorney McElfresh facilitated a smooth resolution. Upon completing some volunteer hours, the hit and run charge will be dismissed, and he can easily move on with his life.
The outcome of an individual case depends on a variety of factors unique to that case. Case results do not guarantee or predict a similar result in any similar or future case.
