Not long ago, a young woman was driving on the freeway late at night when her bumper lightly hit another vehicle. She pulled off the freeway assuming the other car would follow, but there was miscommunication and the other driver did not. Returning home, she received a call from California Highway Patrol and was charged with a misdemeanor hit and run. This is a significant charge that could not only affect her driver’s license but even end with some time in custody. With the guidance of Jessica McElfresh and after negotiations with those involved, the misdemeanor will be dismissed as long as she makes full restitution to the other driver.

The outcome of an individual case depends on a variety of factors unique to that case. Case results do not guarantee or predict a similar result in any similar or future case.
